How can we help?
- If you have already taken the Morrisby assessments, consider retaking the questionnaires so they are up to date with your latest ideas for the future.
- If you have not yet taken the assessments, you will shortly be asked to take a series of timed assessments and two questionnaires. These are usually taken under exam-type conditions but do not worry - this is not an exam and there is no need to revise for it.
- To get an idea of what you might be asked to do, you can find some Practice questions
Help with your options at 18
There are a range of options available to you as you finish your time at school or college, but how can you decide what is right for you?
- Employment: Visit your career suggestions list to find the most suitable careers for you. If you feel your interests have changed since you took the assessments, you can retake the questionnaire on the ‘About me’ page of your account. This is likely to change your list of career suggestions, so revisit the list and favourite the ones that appeal to you and discard those that don’t. If you’re unsure what a job entails, click on the job title to get more information including routes to that career and expected salary.
- Higher education options: If the career you are interested in requires a degree, or you would like to continue your education, take our ‘Study Interests’ questionnaire (which is located in the ‘About me’ menu). We combine your questionnaire answers with your aptitude results to suggest suitable subjects for you to study. Click on the suggestions to find all the universities offering courses in that subject, including entry requirements and course details.
- We link to the UCAS and EUNICAS databases, suggesting courses in the UK and Europe and linking to major international universities. Our ‘Personal Statement’ template will help you to prepare your application and keep your statement within the character limit. Your teacher can suggest changes or improvements which you can accept or reject.
- Higher apprenticeships: This option allows you to work and study at the same time and is now a popular choice amongst your age group. Your Morrisby account gives you links to suggested apprenticeship areas and links through to the government apprenticeship website, where you can find out what is available at this level in your area.
- Further education courses: Local colleges offer a great range of courses, many of which will help you to gain the level of entry required for specific jobs. Let Morrisby help you search for local colleges and find courses to enable you to get your dream job.
- Taking a gap year: People do many things with their gap year including travelling the world, volunteering, or getting a job to help with the cost of life at university.
Visit the ‘Resources’ section from the homepage to find some carefully chosen links to websites that offer helpful information and advice on this option.
- Our Personal Statement template can also help you with your university application. We also provide information on degree-level apprenticeships and entry to employment at 18.
