MIS Requirements

Overview


MIS Sync is the fastest and most reliable way to manage your Morrisby student data. Once set up, you can be sure that your student data on Morrisby matches the data held within your school MIS database. Additional data such as Tutor and House groups, and EAL/PP/SEN flags will also be available. 


Using MIS Sync does carry some restrictions. To protect the integrity of your data, any changes must be made within your school MIS database for them to be reflected against students in your Morrisby account.


Integrations are managed through the Wonde platform which most schools in England and Wales already use. If you are based outside of England and Wales, we can offer integration through another provider.


We will need contact details for a member of your IT/data team with access to your School's Wonde portal to authorise the integration. It is important that you make them aware that this request is coming as you will be unable to use Morrisby until they authorise the integration. 


What we need from you to set up MIS Sync

  • School email domains for students and staff

  • Contact details for your IT Manager/Data manager


Data validation

At a minimum, students must have the following within your school MIS database to be able to use MIS sync:

  • UPN 

  • School email address

  • Date of birth

  • NC Year (National Curriculum year in numerical format only)


Ahead of every sync, we will validate your data to confirm the above. If the validation fails, MIS Sync will be switched off and the Customer Success Team will be in touch. Once the error has been corrected in your MIS database, contact the Customer Success Team to turn the sync back on. If you need help identifying the errors, the Customer Success Team will be able to help you.


Please note: The national curriculum year is essential to enable Autosync, but will not prevent a manual sync from Morrisby. All other data is mandatory for both a manual and auto-sync. 


Required fields & optional fields

  • When approving the Wonde integration there are required and optional fields. If you decline any of the optional fields some features of the site will have reduced functionality or be unavailable. If you have questions about this, please contact the Customer Success Team.

Staff

  • Staff emails must also match your declared domains. If not you will be unable to import them.

  • If staff leave, you will need to manually remove them from Morrisby through the staff and advisers section in Settings.


MIS Autosync (coming soon)


MIS Autosync will run daily and: 

  • Import new students

  • Update existing students

  • Move leavers into a "leavers" folder for you to review, and remove if needed
