How to use Sessions in Activities

Modified on: Fri, 9 Oct, 2026 at 3:10 PM

Sessions let you manage everything about an activity in one place, from seeing who has signed up to reviewing their work and feedback afterwards. This is useful when you want to keep track of attendance, check what students have submitted and close the activity off once it’s finished.

You can open a session from the Calendar, or click Activities to see a list of all your sessions. Use the filters to quickly find the one you need, then click it to view the details. For optional activities, the session page also shows you which students have signed up.

Viewing form answers and evidence

  1. Click the tick in the Form column to see a student’s answers, which you can also download.
  2. Click the tick in the Evidence column to view and download any files the student has uploaded.

Marking students as complete or incomplete

  1. After the session, select the students who attended.
  2. Click Actions, then choose Mark as Complete or Mark as Incomplete.

Once a student is marked as complete, they can fill in a standard feedback form. To see their feedback, hover over their star rating. To download all the feedback, form responses or evidence at once, select all students, click Actions and choose any of the download options.

Removing a student

  1. Select the student you added by mistake.
  2. Click Actions, then choose Remove from Session.

You can also edit the session details or delete the session from the session page at any time before it’s closed.

Closing a session

  1. Once you have all the information you need, click Close Session.
  2. Confirm to close it.

Once a session is closed, you won’t be able to edit it, remove students or mark anyone as complete. Any activity a student hasn’t been marked as complete for will appear under Progress > Activities > Expired.
